you can't cheat at life. you have to pay the price of making efforts/sacrifices. the bigger the effort/sacrifice, the greater the lessons learnt. those who appear to me amazingly mature, they have paid a very high price. and i can't achieve maturity any other way.

i doubt that snobbery will get anyone anywhere. it's a turn-off. where does snobbery come from? lack of understanding? ignorance? being smug?

i've got to make sure i rest properly otherwise i'll burn out and miss out on life...

some greeks (okay, some old greeks *i* know) - including myself on occasion - have a way of talking that sounds like lecturing. next time this happens to you*, remember they may be less convinced than they sound.  as for me, i promise i will never pretend to give advice in a bossing-around manner and i will certainly not pretend to be able to give the right advice in the first place, and i will certainly not sound like i'm giving a lecture. oh yes.
